If you receive an invitation to participate in the SNAAP survey, please know that your participation is essential to the success of this important study!

Your former arts institution is participating in a nationwide survey of alumni of arts training programs, from high schools through doctoral programs. Your institution wants to learn about the career path that its alumni followed.

On a national level, your feedback and insight will help educators, policy makers and the public better understand what helps arts students become artists, and what helps them build careers outside the arts. This information will also create a portrait of various ways arts training connects to the economy, other professions, and to the cultural vitality of our nation.

Your answers are critical to your alma mater's efforts to better serve the needs of its alumni, and to strengthen how it serves the current student body. Institutions will be able to compare their programs to those of peer organizations and more effectively connect to changes in the field.

In 2008 and 2009, about 90 institutions are participating in the field tests. In future years, the scope of the survey system will expand to arts graduates from a much larger universe of institutions.
